Black and White

One of my favorite fall trends is the collegiate athletic look, varsity jackets, cheerleader skirts, soft terry hoodies and sneakers. Finally a trend that maximizes comfort. I've seen people go full out with the look but I think it works better to go with one piece at a time, otherwise it looks like a costume.

I've had this skirt a while but I haven't worn it, but with this weird hot cold weather we're having in New York felt like it was time to bring it out.

Casual and Simple

I saw this this lady on the train when I was going to work and I kind of got obsessed with her outfit. Maybe it's not the most fashion forward outfit but it screams simplicity.  I see so many manufactured looks on people trying to like their picture belongs in a magazine, and she probably looks good everyday without even thinking too much about it. That my friends, is style.

Cookie Butter

I've been hearing a lot about this stuff from my friends. I've been an enormous fan of the Wafles and Dinges truck and their amazing speculoos spread for a long time, so I was a little skeptical of the one they sell at Trader Joe's. First off the hype around this stuff is a bit insane, you can only buy two jars a person. I've seen people try to bribe and flirt their way to an extra jar at the register. The one down by NYU is apparently has a hard time keeping it in stock and people are selling the $4 jar for around $7 to their desperate dorm mates.

While the spread is tasty, I don't think it compares to the one from Wafles and Dinges. This one has less of that snappy gingerbread taste that makes the spread so special and comes off a bit bland. But with it's easier accessibility, I can see its appeal, especially sincese you have to track down the truck to buy the good stuff and it costs about a dollar or two more. I can't say whether or not I'd buy it again since I've only ate it twice, but I'm definitely going to try and think of some recipes for it.

Love, fashion, and good eats,

Welcome to Foodie Barbie!!

What is Foodie Barbie?

First off, hi, I'm Ashley. I'm a 20 something freelance stylist and PR Assistant from New York City who enjoys two things, food and fashion.

F&F, as I like to call them, will be the focus of this blog even though people don't think the two go together. I'll have recepies, reviews, daily outfits and cool fashion finds. I have no boyfriend, husband, or bored best friend to take my picture so there might be some miror selfies, but who cares. (#selfienation) Hope you enjoy :) ♥♥♥
